So, you're child is turning 18! Congratulations! You all survived! But be forewarned, your life is about to change. How you ask? Well, where yesterday you were able to request school records, talk to teachers about homework, discuss medical issues as well as their medical bills; today, the day they turn 18, you are persona non grata (so to speak). Once your child turns 18 they are considered an adult and you are no longer permitted to request any documents on their behalf without their written permission. You are not allowed to discuss their medical bills, their medical treatment, etc.
