College Basketball Can Be Inspirational to Young Players

College basketball season starts this weekend with exhibition games throughout the country. Both men's and women's teams will take to the courts this weekend with their team colors flying, bands playing and fans cheering. I'm partial to the Women's game because one of my daughters, Jenna, plays Division I basketball for CSU Fullerton. Although CSUF is a smaller Division I school the games are fun, the atmosphere electric and the basketball is great!
If you have children who are or will be playing Rec, Club or School basketball this season, make plans to see a game. Most colleges have their game schedules listed online. Contact the coaches at least one month before you plan to attend and you will likely receive free tickets. Ask if your players could meet with the players and coaches after the game. Prepare your players ahead of time with some questions that they may want to ask. This can really be inspirational for young and developing players. Attending a college game can be a great team-builder so don your team colors and head out to a college game.
