Visiting the pumpkin patch, selecting the perfect pumpkin and preparing to carve it are one of the highlights of Halloween at our house. Even the youngest of our children loved drawing their pumpkin face for someone older to carve out. The designs varied from year to year and child to child. We always had a “family of pumpkins” on our doorstep for everyone to enjoy. As the years went by a new pumpkin artistry emerged. I spent the past several years discovering how to create these more elaborate pumpkins. They totally fascinated me and I think will inspire you and your teens to pumpkin carving artistry. The best resource I have found for complete pumpkin care and carving is Jack-O-Lantern.com At Jack-O-Lantern.com you will find tools, descriptions, patterns (similar to the one above which is their design), instructions, techniques and the history of pumpkins. Unleash your creative ghoul and send me the pictures of your creations. I’d love to share them with Mothering Guide readers. -------------------- Stumble
