Many kids want to make money and may need some ideas. This is especially true if they are not old enough to be publicly employed or if they receive an allowance that is not as much as they would like.
During the summer months, there are usually more opportunities for kids to make money. This is also when most kids are on summer break and have more time to make money. With a little creativity and a willingness to work, your child should be able to begin making money upon completion of their first job.
Here are some ideas on how kids can make money. In the summer, yard work and gardening can be very profitable. A good place to start is in your own neighborhood with people that don't already pay somebody else. Busy, working families are often great candidates, as are older people that may have more difficulty getting around and doing manual labor. Before you get started, you can ask if they would like you to wash and vacuum their car after the yard work is complete, or wash the outside windows of their house. These same people may also appreciate you shoveling their sidewalks or driveways in the winter.
Some other ways that kids can make money in the summer is by checking with the owners of local farms or ranches and offering to help out as a farm hand. Pet sitting and dog walking are also good ways to make money in the summer. Bake sales are almost always a sure way to make money, no matter what time of year. Offering to run errands is becoming a profitable way to make money as well. There are so many ways for children to earn money if they are simply willing to ask.
