Many years ago I was priviledged to hear a song that really spoke to my "parenting heart". As a singer, I contacted the composer and obtained permission to record her wonderful piece. I'm only writing it here from memory and will have to give her credit when I find the hand-written sheet music she sent me. For now though, here are her wonderful words to Little Traveler: Hello and welcome, Little Traveler. We've been expecting you for quite some time. And with your tiny face and tiny hands, You're almost to fine to look at all at one time. How was your journey, long, it's true. Would you believe, we made that trip once, just like you? Look out your window Little Traveler, A thousand trails are waiting for your shoes. It's not the world we would have made for you; but, its a good world, and you can change it if you choose Why do you cry? Is it to say, I'm hear! No one could tell the world in words as clear. We're here beside you Little Traveler. And we'll stay with you for a long, long while. We have the sweetest task that ever was, To watch you grow up and to see you smile. What's that you feel? It's only love, you see. It's love that made you, and its love that makes us a family.
